One of my favorite things to do in the whole wide world is thrift shopping. It is like regular shopping, but grosser. Plus, you never know what you are going to come out buying!
It is one thing to shop at the mall where all the stores have the same exact trends. Every store you go into has something similar to the last. Well, not with a thrift store! On one shelf you will find something from your grandmas closet and the next you will find the latest as seen on TV product that failed miserably. It is a mystery every time!
Yes, this is a torn up really creepy mask I found at the Goodwill Outlet. I am shocked too that nobody had purchased it yet.
Anyway. Recently, I’ve decided to share more about my life with you (the stewardess stories about my work life) and now I want to share my passion for thrifting. I thought it would be fun to show the crazy and awesome things I find along the way!
Like this hey there semi-naked cowboy pillow…
Now someone obviously made this pillow (hopefully as a joke for a friend) and put a lot of time and effort sewing on strips of jean, fake animal teeth buttons and charms on it. Someone’s hard work is now being rummaged through with all sorts of other non-worthy items like socks and vintage record players. Poor, Brokeback pillow.
Overall, today was a day of success at the Goodwill Outlet. (More about what that means in another post). I scored about 30lbs of clothing and home decor for $41.23. I know it is hard to image what that means. So here are a few pictures of my treasures from today.
Some of the items I got included (2) tennis skirts, (2) North Face fleeces, (2) North Face shorts, (1) North Face short sleeve, (2) Banana Republic dresses, (1) Adidas running blazer, (5) tank tops, (2) pairs of jeans, (2) skirts, (1) really cool Colorado flag, (1) vintage Broncos poster and more.
And my top findings from today’s thrift shopping trip?
(1) World globe with stand in near perfect condition:
(2) legit Santa jackets (I have my reasons – just ask and I’ll tell you!
)
- Total items bought: 36
- Total cost: $41.23
